I am wondering if I can put 33x12.5x15 to the stock steel rims on my 84'4x4 without lifting on four corners. thanks!

The best answer to giv you is Maybe.

Some stock K5's can take them, and others can't. It really depends on the truck. The best thing to do is go to a dealer and have them fit the tires on and see what its like.

I had an '88 Full Size Jimmy that did fit 33x12.5x15's with a stock suspension; but they rubbed when I went 4 wheeling.

If they do fit, chances are they will rub.

    Thomas.

Depends on the truck and the brand tire. On my 79 BFG M/T's 33's would not fit. They hit the bottom edge of the fender. Trim about an inch out of the fender at the very bottom and they will fit. I ended up running 32's. They fit without mods but under full stuff they would scrub and still do scrub after a 4 inch lift.

Do a search on it.... I asked the same question a few months ago. A few guys posted pictures of their rigs.

Usually they rub when you are turning and going up a driveway or off-road. You may want to try the new(?) BFG 33x10.5 size. Those should fit nicely. Also a good tire shp will usually test fit the tires to see if they rub.

On my 84 K5 I ran 33x9.50x15 for over 1 year with out lifting but went ahead and last month put in a 2" add-a-leaf lift because I could not put chains on the front or mud flaps with out tearing them off. I'm am reasonably certain if you put the 33x12.50x15s on you will soon regret it. The tires I used were Kelly Springfield Safari's and had I not wanted be be able to chain up or put on mud flaps to protect the paint I would never have bothered with the lift. If I could ever figure out how to attach a picture I'd let you see both before and after the lift.
