looking at pre '91 suburbans. One has a 350 the other a 6.5 turbo diesel. Which one would be better all around?

/forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gifIf the diesel is indeed a 6.5 TD, it was swapped in I believe. Pre '91 should only have the 6.2 available.

Here's my opinion on gas vs. diesel. If you're towing anything...diesel. If you do general driving and don't like the noise of a diesel...go gas. Like good gas mileage...diesel.

Heavy summed it up pretty good. THat 6.5 will probably get around 20mpg on average compared to probably 11 or 12 average. The 350 would probably be a little faster but not with a load on it or behind it. Diesels last twice as long as gas motors too. I would grab the 6.5 because with a few mods. it can be a power house.
