I am going to be swapping a 90 350 TBI into my 85 K5. I am getting everything for this engine. Wiring harness complete to the computer.

    Here is my questions:
The 90 jimmy has a electric speedo and my blazer dont. What should I do, swap the np241 into my k5 or just run my mechical speedo with it, or is there another way?
I will be putting a th400/doubler behind this 350 in about a year also.

Any help would be great. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

You've already got the 208, so I see no reason not to go with the 241, except for your plans later on.

To be honest I've never owned an electric speedo truck, but if it is any more reliable (or smooth in operation, which it has to be) than the mechanical one, I think it is a good swap.

I don't know how you'd get around using the *NP208* on a 1990 truck, as I don't believe the VSS buffer (which was used on mech. speedo vehicles) even exists, so you couldn't just "plug it in". You might be able to work something out like a VSS signal from an earlier mech. speedo (yours now has one if it's the 80's rig in your profile) but you'd have to figure out how to work around the DRAC, which is what was used to send the VSS "signal" to the ECM and speedo as opposed to the VSS buffer on the earlier rigs.
