I post this in burban room as well. We are swappinh in a 454 for a tired old 350 in a 78 burb. Any hints, tips, list of mods, etc etc etc. (mounts, brackets, clearances, etc)
And are the engine comparments between a blazer and a burban in 78 fairly close to the same aas far as size if not identical?

You're screwed, lol. Have fun. Man, I'm just kidding ya. I never got those headers on. My fuel pump went south on my way to the exhaust shop! What a whore! Anyway, I gotta get some food before work.

Energy Motor Mounts, BBC acc. brackets, larger radiator and if you go with headers, stay away from the BBC Dynomax headers. They'll hit the shackles/driveshaft. Doug Thorleys fit great but are expensive. Distributers are the same.

So will the 454 motor mounts bolt up to the frame correctly? Looks very close, just eyeballing it.
And Im assuming that the TH400 will bolt straigt up. But with the bigger block, is it going to move the tranny/t-case combo back a little further? IE will we have to move the crossmember back a little?

Shawn, you rock man. Thanks. After we get this all in and running hes going to remove the body and lengthen the frame by 5 inches, ( I dont think he needs to), then he swapping out the body with a 40's panel truck body. Home made grave digger.
