I want to take the motor and tranny out of my '88 K5 and drop them into my '85 shorty 4x4. The shorty has a 305 TH350 combo now and I was just toying with the thought of putting the 305 back in the Blazer. I wasn't sure if the TBI would pump too much fuel into the smaller V-8. Worse case scenario I just have to sell the Blazer without an engine and tranny. What do you all think?

The injectors might have too high of a flow rating for the 305. I don't know that for sure, but I know with TPI when you get a 305 system you have to use 350 injectors becauses of lack of fuel. Beyond that I don't know much that would be a problem. Everything else can be handled as far as I know. Worst case you swap in some injectors off a 305 TBI unit or swap the whole 305 TBI unit.

I think the ESC unit is different on a 305.

Yep. 305 uses different knock sensor as well. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
