Looking to put a 4" lift and 36x12.50x15 Super Swamper TSLs on the K5. Anyone done this that I can take a look at some pictures? Gonna squeeze them on 15/8 rims I think.

Hey I dont have any pics online but I put 37's on my 83 k30 and after a little front fender trimming they fit great even at full articulation and full turn. I have a 4 inch lift

Rusty does the homemade shackle flip give you the full 4" that the ORD setup does? I think the homemade flip will be my way to go out back. I really l ike the way you strengthened your hanger. Will do that to mine if I do the flip. My problem is that my rear springs already ahve about a 1 1/2 to 2" of lift and I think I want to stay with a 4" setup. So I can get the ORD 2 1/2" lift flip and use my springs to attain about 4 to 4 1/2"s. Maybe a zero rate or two for leveling and be done.

    36's with 4" lift?
I have a friend who put 36"s on his 79 K20 with only minor front fender trimming. Wouldn't think it's too different from a K5.

I know I can easily do it with some minor trimming just like to see some pics of it and how it looks.

I have 39.5's on the same truck and same lift right now.../forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

That flip i did with a swap to 57" Ford springs. There is a write up on the whole deal in the Bloody Knuckle forum. The short version is I had 4" blocks and now I don't and the truck sits at the same height.

Do the 36s look narrow in person? They look like they could in the pictures. I worry about that wiht the 12.5s. I hate narrow tires on big trucks. I am not a fan of balloons either so yeah. And do you ahve a body lift too? I see the installing of one in your album. I don't want to body lift at all. Just 4" and fender trimming.

yeah on a lifted sub the 12.5 look kinda narrow. and in the 2 pics on this thread i don't have the body lift.

ugh I absolutely hate narrow looking tires. Much rather have been balloons to float on. Can't really afford wider tires though.

Anyone have pics of the same lift and 36x14.50's? Lets see a comparison.

You will definitely need a lot of fender trimming if you plan on using it hard off road. I run soft springs and sway bar disconnects and F**d shock towers on my 74 pickup with 7 inch lift and 38's, and most of the front fenders are gone to make room for the tires at full flex. My 79 jimmy has 6 inch tuff country softride with 36" buckshots on 10 inch wheels (they look really wide.) The fenders are not trimmed and it will rub badly off road (lame). I just hate to cut out the brand new factory GM fenders they guy I bought it from had just put on.

I think I may go with 35x15s. They will prolly look like balloons under it but I guess thats better than narrow little things. Prolly have to trim some but not as much.
