38\" Tires - Old and Worn OK - San Jose, CA???

I'm looking for a set of tires for an "El Cheapo" 8-Lug conversion. I will be going with 16.5" Diameter wheels Ideally, I'd like a 38 x 15.50 x 16.5" since that's what I eventually want to buy "NEW".

I'm just trying to get an idea of fender problems, cutting needed, wheel backspacing, etc. I could use a cruddy, old set of 16.5" steel wheels too.....

Anyone in the San Jose, CA area that can help me out? I know this is a VERY specific request, so I'm not too hopeful.....but I figured I'd at least ask. [IMG]

There is a guy on the pirate 4X4 board that has a set of 38X14.5X16.5 swampers for sale. I think they are about 40% tread he said.

    Dave,

The only thing I can find over on Pirate4x4 is a NEW set of 38's....the user name is "DENTISTA"

I looked in the "For Sale" section, and did a few searches. Is there another place I should look, or could you post a link?

    Sorry to be a pest...[IMG]

I checked again and those 38X16.5 are $243 each at 4WPW plus shipping and this guy wants $900 for 4 new ones with rims. Sounds like a good deal to me if you want to goto that size anyways.
