4\" shackle flip, how far forward does the axle move?

Stephen, or anyone else for that matter, when I do the solid swap on my truck, I'm going to solve the rear lift issue by installing some of your 4" shackle flips for the 88 and up trucks. The guy doing my swap pointed out that the axle will be moved forwards a bit. Just out of curiousity, how far forward does it move?

Anyone have any pictures of this so I can get an idea?

I have nice and flexy stock springs now, I'd don't want to have to spend more money on some 4" packs.[IMG]

    It is hardly noticeable.

I can post some pics tomorrow (daylight).

I was out looking at mine and I don't notice it. But I also don't have a body on so there is no weight ont he springs. Some rigs are more noticible then others.

I think I figured out it was like 1/2 to 5/8 of a inch. Nothing really noticeable. I went ahead and moved the axle back 1-1/4" after the flip just to recenter the tire in the wheel well. I have a first gen. and they have the rear tires closer to the front of the wheel well even before the flip so moving the axle was something I wanted to do, not needed to do.

Someone here drew it up on a cad program and found it to be about 1/4" if I remember right, basically negligable. The 88-98 should be similar.

OK, your blazer is too pretty. I don't know what to do about it. Either garage it or dent it I guess!

    That thing's gorgeous!

Thanks. But the pictures are very kind to it. Permanent Rocky Mountain Pin Striping, 210,000 mile of rock chips, door dings, and other assorted trail damage. The top has the GM clearcoat paint problems - that is why I lifted it. HA.

Did Mike call you yet? I am trying to have you express ship 1" body and a set od 1" add-a-leafs. That is quick action, eh?

Whatever Dave...I can clearly see somebody's reflection in the paint job and they must be 15 to 20 feet away! I got mirrors with less shine...[IMG]

Thanks Dave, Stephen, and everybody else. Even you Canadians out there[IMG].............. I've seen this guy's work and it's good stuff, and his price for the swap is unbeleiveably low compared to the supposed "pro 4X4 builders" back in SoCal, but I have a feeling he's just trying to get me to spend a little more money so he makes a little more profit.[IMG] Guess I'll have to order some Bilstein 5100's from him so he can feed his kids.[IMG]

Here's what the flip looks like on my 69 K20. Definitely noticeable on my pickup but I'm putting on a flatbed soon so I don't care. http://www.j0ker.org/~yukon/69lifted-01.jpg
