i just purchased a th400 transmission from a guy to put in my '85 blazer and the guy didn't know if it worked or not. is there any way to tell if the tranny is good without putting it in my truck, or should i just get it rebuilt. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

There's really no way to bench test a tranny to see if it'll work. The best thing to do would be take it to a tranny shop/builder. See if they'll hook it up to one of their engines (I HIGHLY doubt it unless you know someone there or pay for work to be done there). But, if in doubt if it works, a rebuild doesn't sound like a bad idea. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
