    Negative.

WAPS testing. Two tests; PFE (Professional Fitness Exam... rules and regs), and SKT (Skills Knowledge Test... your job) and bonus points for awards/medals, time in service, time in grade, and EPR's

I remember when I went in front of the board for Corporal in 78. I was more nervous than I had ever been. The BN Sgt Major asked the first question: How many holes in a C-Ration cracker??? I said "I don't know, but I have some in my desk, and I can go count them". Everyone on the board laughed, and that helped me calm down.

When I was in the Army, and had to test for E-6, I had to study 2 MOSs-76Y, cause it was my primary, and 11BX, cause I was working as a drill sergeant. That was a PITA, but I made it. Good Luck-do you guys still "pin on" the rockers???

There are 9 enlisted grades. E1 is basically a newbie, just learning how to be a "soldier"(insert Marine,Airman,Sailor).E6 is high enough up to be responsible for quite a few people, but still low enough to get dumped on.E8 and E9s are basically advisors to God.:D :D

SSG in the Army would be like a squad leader or section leader (usually).

Hey good luck, I was so proud of myself the day I found out I made Staff, made life a bit better, had a little bit more money in my pocket. Best part was I could stop reading that damn PFE!:D Since I am a civilian now, I can say thank you for serving the USA and keeping me a free person, knowing what you go through on a daily basis, I really appreciate what you are doing .
