    Going to purchase 19.5 X 44 x 15 Boggers for my rig.

I would like to run beadlocks,,,and have been looking at the Eatons.
Anyone run them ??? Also what width rim is needed for 44's ?
    12 ? 14 ? Would I be better off with 16's or 16.5's ?

Looking for suggestions,,,,Before I shell out the big bucks,,

    I would go with a 16.5x14 beadlock.

I'd go with double beadlocks if I were going with 16.5s. No bead retention on a 16.5. Personally I'd go with 16" single lock.

    I don't think they make 44" boggers in a 16" wheel.

Either do the 16" in a single beadlock or 16.5 in a double, 12" wide. I wish the 16's were out when I got mine, it would have saved a lot of time grinding. Im not sure what type of wheelin you do but in my experience my truck is too wide alot of places. A friend runs 10's with weld on beadlocks so they are about 11" wide and he can squeeze past rocks and ruts I cant with my 12" wide wheels. We both have 4.25 backspacing on our wheels. If I did it again I would go with custom double lock 16.5s 10" wide.

Can I hi-jack this quick enough to ask a few questions? Good- explain "bead retention" and why 16 has more than 16.5- and while I am hi-jacking, what good is a single bead lock?! Answer these, and I swear I will never jack again....well- hi-jack.

Sled- I am also shopping right now for a set of 40"s with rims/locks TR, hmmer, Bart's, Starworks(sp) and Eatons are all getting compared right now. We'll keep each other posted. Now, back to you

16.5's have no safety bead on the wheel - it just ramps up at an angle from the center to the outer bead. They are designed for hauling weight - the more weight or tire pressure the farther the tire gets pushed and tighter it gets. All other wheel sizes have a raised lip just inside the outer bead the helps hold the tire in place at lower pressures. Double locks such as hummers or Stazworks are 2 piece wheels that get bolted together and hav a liner inside that pinches the tire against the wheels on each side as its tightened down. Single locks that are more common only lock the outer bead beacause the inner one rarely has a side load on it.

I just reread that - the 15's,16's,17's etc. have inner AND outer safety beads. I only lost an inner in the snow at 2psi. In the sand I run 4psi in back and 5psi in front and have never lost a bead.
