Hi, I have a 350TBI that needs to be rebuilt but i also have a 454BBTBI that i could buy. The problem is $$ of course. What the ? is, what can i do to either motor to get a little more HP and Torque but keeping the TBI set up. Looking for rebuild kit suggestions, cam upgrades and all that. I know the BB would be the way to go for the $$ of it, but still if you guys could help on either the 350 or 454. Thanks, Tim

The stock 454 will give you gobs of torque and horspower to begine with. YOu can add a mild cam and a set of headers to it for good gains with the TBI. For better info on the TBI try:

    Thirdgen.org

You can hop up the 350 to. but you will to equal the Big Block. I am biased though. My Blazer and my daily driver both have 454's. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do the 350 with a good cam (.490 / 225@.050). hit thirdgen to learn how to modify the chip and make it happen. better mileage, great torque and you have the core.

bang for the buck I say the bb for just plain cost the sb. I have three trucks now ,one a 76 1/2t 4x4 with a HO 355, a 88 2500 4x4 with a 383 tbi, last my k5 with a HO 454. I have rebuilt all these engines and the bb cost more then the 350 less then the 383 and has the best power of all.
