    454 from a \'95 Suburban into a 1987 Suburban??

Can it be done fairly easy? Anything that wont work? Or is it just a straight up swap?
454 from the 1987 took a crap and I can get a good deal on one from a 95 suburban. But need to know if there is anything else I will need to make the swap or if is simply pull the old one and install the new one.
Any help is appreciated as always/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

should be a straight up swap. Both should be TBI one piece rear main motors. Can't think of anything that would be different or cause an issue for you.

I'm wondering about the serpetine set up....any issues there? what are the pros of it? It doenst have it on the motor, but I can find one if its a plus. Or can I just use the regular set up off of the 87?

Also, are the TBI's the same? Or should I take the TBI/Intake off of the 87 and put it on the 95 motor?

    Distributors the same?

    Thanks for the info/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

everything should be the same(kind of a sad fact when you think about it). Oooh come to think of it wiring harnesses may be different but just use all the wiring, distributor, and accessories off the 87 and you will be sure to have no problem. All should go directly on the new motor. I'm not saying accessories and all will cause a problem but you never know and going witht he 87 stuff is one way to reduce the headaches.
