Can't find anything in search /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
    Where can I find detailed info on swapping a 454 into my K5 w/ a 350?
    Thanks

What's to know? Should be a direct bolt in. You just need all the big block pulleys and exhaust. Will bolt right to the tranny too

The TH400 attached to the 454 is going in with it! Let me ask more specifically, will the tranny crossmember be the same, and it seems I heard something about the crossmember in the front. Sorry for the newb ?s, never done a swap before, so just being cautios!
    (Thanks bigpapa)

the front cross member difference is the motor mount bolt pattern. you can't put sbc mounts in a bbc original truck and vice versa. the sbc mounts will fit a bbc and sbc, i don't think the crossmember moves unless you are changing trannys, then its iffy

I swapped a 454/4 speed in place of a straight 6/3 speed manual. Direct bolt in. Got lucky and didn't even have to change driveshaft length

I put a 454in an 84 stepside, it bolted right in, no problems. What are you using for a transfer case?
