Nothing to mount to the motor

TH 400 type NP 208 and adapter and the proper tailshaft in the tranny

    Computer to make it shift/operate

89 in the 454ss, 91 elsewhere. The early ones are problematic, but the bugs were worked out.

I thought I read somewhere that the SS was the first application for the 80e, but it didn't get it 'til 91, and only the 1990 model had the TH400.

Yeah, now that I think of it, there was no 454SS until 90, not 89. I am not sure on the 91 and 92 454SS models on the 4L80E comment. Either way, there was no 4L80E 'til 91 and no 454SS trucks until 90.

The first 454 SS trucks had a 3-speed auto, presumably the TH400, with 3.73 rear end. A year or so later they switched to a 4-speed auto w/ OD and a 4.10 rear axle.
