I think i found a tranny for the 502, but im not sure. The guy i talked to said its out of a 1996 chevy 4x4, also that its the one with the romovable bellhousing. Does anyone know if this will work?

I have a 4L80E from a '98 4x4 on my garage floor now, it does not have a removable bellhousing. One way to ID a 4L80E is by the electrical connectors -- it has 3, one big round multi-pin one on the driver's side of the case, and two 2-pin speed-sensor connectors on the front and rear driver's side of the case.

In contrast a 4L60E will have a round multi-pin connector on the passenger's side. The 1 2-pin speed sensor is either in the T-case or tailshaft.

    Hope this helps!
