It's the TH400 with an overdrive. Like the TH700/4L60E is the TH350 with an overdrive. Actually, until 1993 the HUMVEE's had TH400's without Park, at 93 and later they have 4L80e's. Hope this helps.

VERY GOOD TRANNY FOR THAT!!! Think of a TH400, just with an OD gear! Your gas mileage won't be THAT bad after all. [IMG] Anyways, that is what Chevy/GM has put behind the 454 and diesels since 91 or so. Requires a computer, but not that hard. September's Four Wheeler details a swap into a TH400 truck. Hope this helps.

AJMBLAZER do you have that article about the swap. Can you email it to me? flore@tvn.nl
I have a 4L80E transmission (out off a `92 VAN) right here but the price off the computer stopt me from putting it in my Blazer.

The TH700, 4L60E(4L60) and TH700R4 are all the same except I think the 4L60E is computer controlled, which is what the E means (electronic)

Tell you what (again[IMG]), it would be a HUGE file if I scanned it, so just send me an email with your mail address over there, and I will copy and mail it to you. Won't cost more than a few bucks. Hope this helps.

I think I recall seeing a kit to convert a 4L80E into a 4L80. It was on the net somewhere; some transmission-related site. A little searching on the net may prove me right (or wrong...)

I mailed it out to you on Friday man. Only cost me like 90 cents, don't worry about it. Later.
