    What would be the cheapest and easiest way to swap in a 4L80E tranny and case. So far it looks like I would have to buy the seperate controller. Is it true you could build one to be shifted manually. I've got a 700R4 and 208 and I know that they will not stand up to my new engine. I've thought about a T400 and 205, but I like the lower first and OD of the 4L80E. This is going into an 85. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    You would need to change the input shaft on your NP208 to a 32 spline from the 27 spline, add a speed sensor, computer, wiring, linkage, etc.

    As I remember, the 1st gear on the 400/4l80e is the same at about 2.5:1... your 700r4 at 3.0something:1 is actually lower.
