Check the muffler bearings for wear...also for extra power paint your fan blue.

Do that again and you can find yourself another board.
You will not find a board with a 1/4 the knowledge of the truck you own PERIOD.

Take a pill and realize why the boys are bugging you, brother[IMG]. Even though we're here to help, you have a certain responsibility to educate YOURSELF before asking for help. Too many people just ask questions without doing some homework first.

Here's an example of a better way to ask your question-

Hey guys!!!! I'm new here, and I'm pretty green when it comes to 4x4s. I have a question about what fluid to put in my transfer case. I have a (203, 205, 208) transfer case and I need to know what to use to top it up.........

Thanks guys[IMG]!!!!!!

See? That works a lot better. Another hint: if you want help, telling the guys to EFF OFF is not a good way to go about it.

UM...........Your kidding right? Don't come to this board and ask questions and then give people an attitude. IT WAS A JOKE just like when someone told you to check your 4WD fluid. He was joking too.

to show i am not a POR bastard.... PM me (or post here) and let me know what year your rig is. auto or manual size engine etc. and if you know exactly what kind of t-case you have. I will look up the info and get back to you with the correct fluid for your application.

And to add to Grims post, There is a wealth of knowledge here but alot of us have a wealth of mental illness, so along with the good and the knowledge we tend to get a little mental here sometimes and for the most part this is just a way for us to have some fun on top of getting down to business. And with all message boards and E-mails, you cant see facial expressions so dont jump the gun and think that someone is breaking your balls. Its very easy to type something here and while being very sincere, you can be interpreted as a baastard.
I would like to apologize for hte comment about the 4wd fluid. That was me that said that. But that was to add to the floating jokes here about blinker fluid too.
So again, I didn't mean to get you panties in a wad.

I thought the Yellow was the biggest HP model? Now your telling me green? I also heard it helps braking so I painted all my rotors, drums and calipers yellow. Is Green better?
Darn I guess it's off to Ace for another can of spray paint!
What color strips should I do? I hear that cut's down drag coefficent.

No NO, white is better, as the white reflects more light thus causing less a catclimic vortex in the atmosphere surounding the rotor allowing the heat to dis-appear into thin air. [IMG]

Actually, I haven't changed my transfer case or differential fluids since I bought my 83 Jimmy last year. Transmission is a no-brainer, it gets Dextron ATF...but what about the T-case and diff's? I've seen "gear oil" and "ATF Fluid" in my repair manuals...Suppose I should read the owners manual...

while you might know fluid types Grim you have NO idea what to do with your fan shroud, lucky for everyone here i am an expert. it needs to be CARBON FIBER with 3 "TYPE R Yugo" stickers straegicly placed in a set pattern that only the rare golden water buffalo of lower new hampsire can tell you telapathicly on odd day of the month or any weekday that ends in "Y"

NP 203, gear oil? I THINK NOT! Motor oil is more like it.

As for transfer cases:

NP 203, Motor oil (10W30 I've read is the real spec)
NP 205, Gear oil
NP 208 or NP 241, ATF (these are easily distinguishable, they're aluminum)
