My 89 K1500 don't want go into 4wd. It snowed a little here in seattle, so I wanted to try the 4wd. I shift into 4high and nothing. Back wheels spin , front does nothing. I can also see by looking at the tires which ones were spinning. When I park the truck. I get under to see if the front driveshaft is lockedwhen in 4wd, it is. Also had the trans rebuilt ayear ago, could there be any lines not reconnected? thanx

check your front actuator. the old ones are thermal, and well, it being a little chilly, it takes a while to work. or it could be dead. you can either get an electric replacement, or get a posi-lok, which is a manually operated cable actuator.
