I finally made the final decision to host another mud race. July 28th, a Sunday, beginning around noon. Location: Ione, Wa. about 85 miles North of Spokane.

The small town of Ione has their annual Downriver Days celebration with a parade, train rides, and other small town activities. Usually on Sundays, they have hydro-boat races on the river, but this year they were cancelled. By Sunday the 28th at noon, I'll have the mud pits ready (2 pits, side by side, 150 ft. long each).

All I will be doing is collecting a $5 per person spectator/entry fee at the gate, to pay for the costs of the outhouse rental, water pump rental, and Cat rental. The races will be done by a purely volunteer basis (that is for timers, flaggers, and announcer.) Entry fee to race will be $20 per vehicle. Cash prizes for 1st/2nd place per each class will depend on the number of entrants.

This time I plan on sitting back and relaxing while watching the races with my family/friends that will be camped out. So, I won't be running around trying to keep everything held together all day.

Here is the flyer for the event: http://community.webshots.com/photo/43642130/43643636SvJOTo

and here are photos from the Memorial Day race, to give an idea of the pits and the area: http://community.webshots.com/user/aalundberg (under the Mud Days albums)

Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to be as descriptive as possible. I'm not sure how organized the racing will be considering it will be all volunteer run, but I just havent had the time to do all the organizing like I did for the Memorial Day race. But at least I'll have the grounds ready for play.
