Hmmm I wonder why it is that I look both ways before entering an intersection, regardless of light color...

Pretty incredible. I wish that I could post up pictures of some of the cut n rescues that we goto. It is a much different situation when there are real people in the accident.

I call bull****. Everyone here on ck5 knows that econoboxes have incredibly well designed crumple zones that make them impervious to even the most heinous of crashes!!!!!!!!!! x eleventy billion!

relax, i was joking. Old skoolers and frequent lounge-posters sometimes like to bring up old crap just for fun or pads. :)

One more reason I love one sided media reports.
Just wait guys, those pedestrian safe hoods are on their way over here too!

If you want to drive a car and feel safe, drive a crown victoria, if you prefer to spend your money on things besides peace of mind and gas, get an escort.
Me personally, I'll never trade in my Jimmy Hoffa trunk.

there pretty much is no such thing as a safe vehicle when you have collisions at that speed. I mean, econobox drivers keep complaining about SUVs and how they are a "menace" on the road... well... wtf do you think a motorcycle rider thinks about econoboxes zipping around like crazy mo-fos during rush hour?!?

The problem with vehicle saftey has nothing to do with the vehicles (at this point of automotive design evolution) and everything to do with people being terrible drivers. Its more dangerous to be a commuter on the highway than it is to be a grunt in Iraq and yet people treat it like it isn't dangerous at all. That is the main reason we lose 40,000+ people every single year to car wrecks.
