I was looking through a number of GM 14-bolt full floater axles
searching for a 4.09/4.10 gearset. Didn't find those, but I did
find a 5.13 gearset (41/8). I pulled the back cover, and the oil
was clean, gears looked good and moved properly, and no water was
evident. It appears that these aren't all that common, and only
    available as OEM.

Anyone need them? I could probably get the parts for maybe $75.
This would include the ring gear on the open differential carrier
with bearings. Also the pinion gear with yoke in the bearing
carrier that bolts in the front with six bolts. The axle was
    marked 1983.

This is near Providence, RI. Shipping would be via UPS.

How thick is that ring gear? Does it look like it could be weak?
