folks, can I take a 12-bolt 5 stud rear from say a 1/2 ton suburban or 1/2 ton pick-up and just slide in 6-stud axles for my 83 jimmy. I see these 5 studders all over the place and the 12-bolts are obviously stonger. So does any one know if the perches and the shocks will line up properly, and the lengths of them. Any info is greatly appreciated.......js

as long as they are leaf spring trucks, you can do it.....all 12B are 30 spline....I went a step further and got Moser 1340H alloy axles...I don't want the weight of a 14B.....
