6\" lift and 38\'s?

I was just wondering how much "fender trimmin" i have to do
to get 38.5's on my 75 k5 with a 6" lift, the reason i ask is i ran the spring creek trail this weekend and i figured i needed a few more inches under the pumpkin.......i am currently running 35's.

Jeep Thing,? Ya i ran over one!

You'll have to do more then the 25 obviously but it'll look good.

Why not a body lift? I think the biggest I'd go with 6" would be 36s.

There's a guy here in town that's running a 6" and 38's. He used those Bushwacker Cut-outs. It takes almost 3" off the fender. Look into that. Even if you don't want the flares, you can at least find out how much would need to be trimmed.

Less trimming than me. I'm assuming you have 8 lug axles, since you had diff clearance probs on Spring Creek. Watch your wheel backspacing, I recommend 4 1/8" (standard for a 15 x 10 8 lug wheel). Not sure if you'll get to keep your inner fenders, but there's a good chance they can stay (if you care). I don't care for Bushwackers on a trial rig, they stick out really far (plus they wouldn't let me cut out enough).

Look for a guy buy the name of Shawn ( thats his username too). He is on this board and he runs a 6" lift and did some trimming and it looks nice. He is or was running 36's and I think I remember him saying he trimmed enough to run 38's and not have a problem. You can see his Blazer at www.offroad.com/chevy. His is the one labeled " Project Potent Rodent" that thing is bad @ss!! Check it out, there are right ups on alot of the stuff he did to it along the way, or send him a PM and he can give you the link to his fender trimming pics, I cant remember it.

I had an 82 K30 with 6" lift and 39" Mickeys once. Those tires fit because I had Bushwacker cut-out flares on it. Never rubbed either. There are pics of this set up somewhere on this forum. If you need to see the pics, search waaaaayyyyy back a couple months ago! [IMG]

Heres my dad's truck. It has a 6" Skyjacker lift, Bushwhacker cut-outs, 1 ton running gear and 38x16x15 Swamper TSL's on 15x10 wheels. We have to trim the front of the fender a little more but it clears on the street.
