    6\" lift + Shackle Flip Kit ?

I have a 83' Chevy 1-Ton LWB Truck. It currently has a 6" lift kit on it. I used to have a 80' Chevy 3/4 SWB with a 15" lift kit and some 44" Ground Hawgs. I was wanting to run some 38-40's on my new truck,..but keep it clean and not cut the fenders. If I installed a 4" shackle flip kit on the truck would that give me 10" of lift?...Thanks in advance for any help!...

didn't notice he wasn't talking about the ORD kit, Echobit kit would be somewhere around 5.75" more lift.

Yeah it has 6" Rear Springs. With 10" of lift what is the biggest tire I could clear without cutting the fenders or getting and rubbing? Also where can I purchase front and rear shackle flip kits? Thanks

Probably do 38.5s maybe 39.5s. Not a big lift person who is unwilling to cut so someone else should be able to help. I'd like to build a big lift truck someday.

go to www.google.com and enter his screenname in the search, first item is his webshots with his pictures. I did it last night when some people were talking about his K5 in the chat.

You can only do the flip kit on the rear, the front shackles are already a compression style so you'll have to get a 10" spring for the front. We have the 4" kit for the rear, HERE
It'll do just what you're after.
As for tire size without trimming, sorry I'm not much help on that one, we usually look at cutting fenders without much reservation. 40's maybe?

40's will go with 10" maybe might have to body lift also if you don't want to cut

38.5 wouldn't go on mine with 9" so I hacked it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Now it's gonna fit with 6".

/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif my k5 will have 4" lift and 39.5s. Then I will go wheeling with Yunit and his 4" lift with 42s and hate myself.

Re: 6\" lift + Shackle Flip Kit ?

I have about 11" of lift and I moved my axle forward 1.5" and 39.5's are no where near fitting without trimming. I had to trim at all of my fenders but I had to trim a whole lot off of the back of the front fender. I am talking about interference at full flex. You could probably clear 40's if you just drive on the road.

I initially didn't want to trim at all. But I decided to because it was either lift it a ridiculous amount or mangle up my fenders off road. I also decided that I think it looks better with the fenders trimmed because it looks weird with big tires and then a fender opening that is smaller than the tire. If you do it right you can also make it look real clean and factory looking.
