I found a '90 suburban parts car and one of the things im planning on taking out of it is the rear end. its a 2wd with a 454 in it and im not sure if its a SF or FF because i havent seen it yet. does anyone know what it would be for sure????

also my main question is what can i do to keep my 15" 6 lug wheels?

If its a SF i can get 6 lug axles right???? or wheel adaptors

and if its a FF is my only option the wheel adaptors??

i did a search and couldnt really come up with anything besides the adaptors, so any other info would be appreciated, thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif

If it is the FF with 8 lugs then the adapter that Echobit sells is the most practical solution if you want to keep your 6 lug rims. Anything else would require way too much trouble and money.

    If its a 2wd 454 Suburban it will be a 14FF 8 lug.

2 of the lugs from the axle still go on the wheel.

    Re: 6 lug axles

aluminum is a fine material to use to make spacers... this isnt cheesy aluminium... its a really high strength aluminum alloy. I know the ones I got are a real work of machining art... very nice. You are wanting to run 6 lug rims on an 8 lug axle though... not sure is perf makes a spacer that lets you do that or not. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

also would i have any problems running this with a disk brake conversion??

You have to turn down the hub so that a 6 lug wheel will fit over it. You also can not run factory chevy wheels. You have to run aftermarket or Toyota wheels because they have a larger center hole.
