6 lug 14 bolt

    has anyone ever heard of a 6 lug 14 bolt. i ran across a 90 3/4 ton light duty with 6 lug wheels. is it a 14 bolt. it has a huge diff section.

    you will notice when rear differentials are being discussed, they talk about 14 bolt FF and 14 bolt SF styles, you are looking at the 14 bolt SF style, it is a heavy duty rear, 9 1/2 inch ring gear, but not as heavy as the 14 bolt FF rear, 10 1/2 inch ring gear, which all have 8 lug wheels.

    14 bolt FF have been machined down to 6 lug before. im not sure who on here has done it but there are like 3 or four who have.

    LD 3/4 ton already comes with a 6 lug semi floating 14 Bolt, so why convert a 10.5" to swap in?

    i have a buddy with a 6.5L that could not keep his 14bolt sf in one piece. so he swapped in a D60 and a 14FF... no problems now...
