I am gathering up the parts to go to a 14 bolt diff and am going to convert the 10 bolt front with 6 lug to 8 lug. And the million dollar question is,,,,,,,,,,,,, can I use the brake backing plate from a 2 wheel drive 3/4 ton or do I have to use one from a 4x4?????
Just a note,, I bought a 14 bolt diff with 4:10 gears and took it a part to check things out ,and wow,,,,is this thing ever a superior design compared to my 10 bolt,,, cant wait to get a locker and get it all installed.

You will need the plate off a 4x4. The 2wd stuff is totally different.

And yes, it will need to be from a 3/4 ton also. The 1/2 ton plates are a little smaller in diameter than the 3/4 ton.

I'm not picking my nose...I'm just pointing at my brain!! [IMG]
