    i have an 85 ke with 305 and a 700r trans the problem is the trans keep blowing the front seal this is the second time its done it it has been rebulit twice in 2 yrs any one have any ideas why this would happen /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

    just a complete guess, but could you be over-filling it? Doing so can be hard on any of the gaskets/seals.

    This is not entirely uncommon. Overfilling should be the first thing you look into. Also, next time you have access to the front of the tranny, install a seal retainer. They are real cheap and just install over the seal to keep it from exiting.
