you can buy a shorter output and tear the tranny down, ORD sells it i think. good if doing a rebuild. or you can buy a spacer from AA. both cost about the same. if not tearing down the tranny i would get the spacer. its like an inch longer.
since the TH350 has the same output in all 4x4 models and same spline count as the 700r just shorter then you can use any 205 or 203 off a TH350. then using the spacer or the new output it will bolt right up.
the TH350 and the 700r4 are identical on the a$$ end with the exception or the output stick out length. like i said before about an inch longer on the 700r.
AA sells an output shaft like ORD!!!! Not a spacer!!!!
You can get a spacer from a local transmission shop! I have the address if you're interested!!! Here are the pictures I took of it:
It cost me $60 to my door!!!!!!! The output shafts cost $200-$400!!!!! Plus you have to tear down your transmission!!!
they sell both, but they both have thier ups an downs
spacer ups, extra ~ inch of space. helps a TAD on drive shaft angle. cost less
shaft ups, STRONGER
shaft downs COST
spacer downs, WEAKER.
to me if you are going to rebuild the trans do the shaft, i feel it is worth it.
but thats me.
