I have an '88 K5 with a D44 front and 12b rear, my 700r4 just blew up and I was wondering what all I needed to put in a 205. Anything else besides the 700 mainshaft, and whatever driveshaft mods? Is there a mainshaft for each of the different 205's, or do I need to get a specific 205? I'm not interested in doing the doubler, just swapping in a 205.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Shoeless, what you will need is the short 27 spline output shaft for your 700r4 from Advance Adapters, a 205 t-case from a TH 350 trany, adapter that mounts the t-case to the trany, coupling that connects the output shaft of the trany to the input shaft of your 205,shifter and linkage, your 208 shifter and linkage will not work with the 205, you will need to get rid of your 208 cross member and get the straight cross member from a 205 or I belive a 203 t-case,and you will to modify the sopport strut that goes from the trany to the t-case.

That's pretty much the scoop on how to do it.
