You know it seems like every other post is something about a 700R4 blowing up. I can't remember if I've ever seen any posts about somebody having to rebuild their SM465. Thats why I'm glad I have mine. When I got the Blazer back in '97 the only fluid in the tranny was a mix of water, mud and gear lube. I just changed the lube and its been fine ever since. Any of you 700R4 guys thought about a swap to one of these?

I would like to dump my 700 in favor of a SM465, but I have no idea what is involved. I going to start looking for parts to do this swap when my 700 blows. I would like to swap in a 465/205 combo but I have not been able to find any parts near where I live.

I love mine. You won't win any races with it, but you'd be hard pressed to break it.

I love mine too. I passed up many cheap, clean, rust-free K5s because they had the auto. I was more concerned with getting a truck with the stick rather then one that looks nice.
