700r4 fluid capacity?

    How much ATF does the 700R4 take..I have looked all around and can't find out how much....

    remeber to drain you torque converter

    5 quarts if you just drop the pan for a quick fluid change.
    11 to 12 quarts(3 gals) for a complete fill including the torque convertor If tranny and TC are completly drained.

    could be more I 'spose if you had a aftermarket cooler and/or deep oil pan etc.
