700R4 out of a Diesel in place of a 350??

    Any tricks or wacky stuff that you guys can think of swapping a diesel 700R4 into a '74 Blazer 350/350? Thanks!!

    I'm not 100% sure, but I think the internal governors and/or the converters are different as diesel and gas RPM ranges are much different (each shift at a different RPM). You should be able to call the local tranny shop to verify/deny this.

    I put a diesel version 700R4 behind my 350 V8 in a S15 Jimmy 4x4 and it ran fine. I didnt notice the difference but didnt drive it long after that because the body rot forced me to junk the truck.
