Anyone have any comments on this combo? I have a few people who swear it can happen, but how does the tailshaft bolt to the T-case? Any suggestions???

  2. A custom adapter, I think advanced adapters makes one !! You want bullet proof (the 205) then loose the 700R4 and go with a TH400/NP205 combo. To hell with overdrive just buy more gas and a bigger cooler !!

This is for my daily driver, but it does see some occasional 4x4 use. A 208 T-case would even work, but I don't happen to have one. I have a 203 and two 205's (sounds like I need to buy a doubler kit for the Blazer)

You might as well do it right the first time and get that doubler. It's next on my list too!

The main problem is that the output shaft in the 700r4 is too long for the 205. You have two options with the t-case and tranny combo. You can swap a shorter tailshaft into the tranny to fit the 205. Or, you could just use a spacer from advance adapters. Hope this helps some.

  7. I've got a NP205 that has the big spline male shaft for a SM465. It needs rebuilt from sitting so long, but looks good. Make me an offer, where are you at, I am in KY and would rather not ship it !!
