My 84' diesel jimmy is having trans problems. Shifts hard but have to rap it up before it will shift. Should I rebuilt it and update it or swap it out? Do the torque converters go bad often? When it is in gear it doesn't seem to slip. I will try to deal with it some in the morning.

Something amiss with your TV cable? I heard that if its out of adjustment you can have some problems.

Find where your TV cable connects to the engine. There is a button on it (sort of). With the engine off, push in the button and move your throttle to full. Then release the button and then the throttle. That will set it back to normal. You might have to adjust it back a little to get it perfect. I had the same problem with mine and this worked for me.
