71 K5 AC unit, what do I do with it?

Discussion in '1969-1972 K5 Blazer | Truck | Suburban' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Feb 20, 2003.

I just picked up a 71 K5 and want to take out the A/C so I can get to the motor easier.. Is this worth anything? It looks like everything is in good condition.

    Thanks,forrest

dont know what its worth, but if anyone is really interested, I got tons of them A6 compressors laying in the barn. my blazer has an after market compressor. I am gonna put an original A6 on it tho, that way, I dont have the odd brackets that someone fabbed.

Honestly, they don't go for cheap. I've pieced together an A/C setup out of junkyard parts and it wasn't too bad price wise. I just need to do the install and replace a couple of the levers in the control head.

In 1972, Chevrolet figured that my K5 was good enough without it /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif The heat works great though /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif. AC is for pansies!!

no AC, but the heat works ehh? mine is the opposite! the AC works, but my heat is almost non existent, I even took the core out and cleaned all the leaves out of it. still not very warm.

  10. My heat doesn't even work! I guess, I'll try and find some aftermarket heater....

    Thanks,Forrest
