I stopped in to look at Corvettes at a local Corvette shop and was totally amazed to see an excellent condition 72 Blazer in the back corner. They wanted $19,000 for it. It was completely re-done and had a 454 under the hood. Everthing was pieced together nicely. It also had 3 fuel tanks and a custom front seat (bucket/bench combo).

Someday... mine will put it to shame... someday.

    Hey Dave,

Where's it at? No way I could buy it, but it would be nice to go check it out so I can drool over it. I live in Portland as well.

The Corvette shop is on 86th and S.E. Stark (or Washington... wichever one runs west).

Dave, what city and state? Does it have A/C? Automatic or manual? I have a friend who wants a turn-key Blazer with A/C and he isn't worried about paying a few bucks if the thing is put together right and doesn't have to worry about doing a thing to it other than putting gas, tires, and oil into it. If you have the number of the shop, I'd like to give it to my friend.

    Its in Portland, OR Steve.

This is what I can remember:

    Color: Gloss White
    454 with HEI
    Headers
3 fuel tanks (Stock and two additional)
    Automatic TH350
    Factory Air
    Completely re-done inside and out
    Custome interior
    Soft top and hard top
    Dual 2 1/2 inch exaust
    Flowmaster Headers

The tires were 33x11.5 (I think) with Corvette ralley 5 hole wheels and chrome. I didn't look to see how many lugs... though I haven't seen any 6 lug Vettes running around.

Everything looked great. The interior is a matter of taste. Its pretty well done, but its not stock.

Thanks, Dave. You wouldn't happen to have any contact information on this Corvette shop, would you?

Steve, tell your friend to check out the most recent Hemmings...there are a few nice trucks in there.
Here is one with a picture on the web:

If you type in 1969 to 1972 blazer, you get about 8 hits and I think there are a couple more in the paper edition.

1970 GMC Jimmy 502HO/SM465/NP205 doesn't run just yet!

Thanks, guys. I'll forward the information to him on the shop and on looking into Hemmings.

Hey PORTLAND guys, Gresham here. Live out by Barlow High School. Was in to the Chevy Store last Friday to look for some Tuned Port Injection badging, and saw that Blazer you guys are talking about. Unfortunately, IMHO, it is not worth near that, maybe $10K. Leaking pinion seal, tranny leak and a motor leak that I couldn't figure out where from.

Nice rig but for that $$ you could build two nice trucks.

You guys members yet of OBH (Oregon Bushhackers)? If not, join up, no dues, not really a formal club, just an email list of guys/gals that do runs mostly every week to either TSF or Sand Lake.
