Looks like someone tried to re-paint it and didn't use a sealing primer :(

The floorpan looks like it's unmolested, though. I think it's doable.

That thing definitly needs a paint job. It looks bad with all those rust spots showing.

how much did you pay for that slick little ride?
Ive been trying to find an old chevelle for a while now but ones in worse condition then that are going for like $3000 and up.

I have a few friends that talk to me about looking for a muscle car (everyone knows I am into them and have some), I pretty much tell them if they haven't already found a decent deal on one, its too late. Prices are getting outrageous (especially chevelles, novas, cudas & maros). So finding a nice little deal on something like that is awesome. Congrats.

PS: that's just a lil surface rust, easily removeable with chemicals. No real harm there that I can tell from the pics.

Yeah, it's a texas car, and the rust is just from being in northern texas for the past couple years. I'm going to be getting the car for $500. I had the same thought as big dan when my friend asked if I was interested. It's not exactly the kind of muscle car I'd like to have (68-69 GTO), but with the incredible rising prices this is hard to pass up.

The few factors that cinched to deal for me on the car was looking at the pics, the chrome is still excellent, and the floorpan looks to be in good shape. That's what led me to believe that rust was just a mistake in primer choice on the car by whoever last worked on it. I don't know if I'll be able to straighten up that decklid, though. My friend told me it had a dent in the trunk and I was hoping it was going to be anywhere but that crease.

sweet deal. I really want a chevelle but I would take that kind of deal on pretty much and gm or mopar muscle car cause I want one bad. not really to restore, mostly for a hot rod. Id like to find one with no motor or tranny cause that would give me a good excuse to stuff a 500cid caddy and powerglide in it.:D

I'm getting the car with a non-matching 318 out of a van. But, I've struck a deal with Wes for his 440, so it'll have a little bit of beef under the hood.

At least you'll have fun fixing it when you get back.

Good thing I mentioned the combo to you. I got two e-mails from two guys out of town and they were showing interests in it. One even wanted to come up this weekend to pick them up. I told him I was holding them for you til next month. :wink1:

might have got lucky and found a 68 chevelle today.:woot:
gotta go talk to the guy this weekend and see if he'll sell it for cheap. its in terrible condition though, plenty of rust and bent body panels. lucky me Ive got two friends in body school right now and they need a project which means free body work minus material costs for me if I get it.:D

That's the way to do it :) Hopefully your friends already have some background in bodywork so they don't make mistakes on the car.

they have both helped with body work on my truck and are currently working on a dodge ram so they will have some experience before they get my car.

Agreed. Rust gives it character, right?

I know that rust gives it character, but the charger has a little too much for me to handle. I can handle the few that are on the truck though. ;)
