I'm need to know what the gear ratios are in my Dana 44 and 12 bolt on my '73 Blazer. It has a 350/350/203 if that helps. Thanx.

the blazers came with a couple different options so the only way to know what you have is to either do the quick and semi accurate way or the right way. The first one is to jack up your rear end , make a mark on your tire on the driveshaft and spin the wheel forward for two rotations and count how many times the drive shaft turns. this should bive you an approxamate ration like three turns of the shaft=3.07 4 turns= 4.10. if you arent satisfied with this, pull your rean end cover off and rotate the ring gear untill you can see some numbers stamped on the end of it. Mine had 43:14. you take the larger number and divide it by the smaller number to get your ratio so mine was 43/14=3.07. its the proper way to do it if you really want to be accurate, but the drive shaft and tire method gave me an approx 3.07 so i igure its accurate.

Most of them were unlucky enough to come with 3.07 gears, like mine used to have. Just pop the rearend cover off and count the teeth. The gearlube probably needs to be changed anyway.
