73 shortbed on a 87 blazer frame

    i'm wondering if i could put a 73 shortbed pickup on a 87 blazer frame what would need to be done any ideas .i would not really be opposed to a flat bed . /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

    <font color="green"> You would need to lop about a foot off of the front of the bed to make it fit. Frizzlefry has done this, as have some others. </font>

    thanks shaggy i did a search a found frizzlefry's but was unsure if the difference in the years would work.and am unsure on some of the other details

    you'll have to move the rear bumper back. blazer fenders are 26in. between the bumper and wheel well trucks are 30in. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifto /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

    don't know for sure but a guy around here did it, he said u have to put in a frame mount for the back of the cab.

    your right BOZ42, i welded a frame ouy of 2in' square channel.aprox.6in.tall ,on top of metal brace 1/4 in. thick welded on stock blazer body mount. 6 in. allows for body mounts and shims. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifto /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

    i just remembered, i had a friend that used hockey pucks. can you imagine?he had threaded dowl rods going through them. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
