'73 tub on an '89 frame

    \'73 tub on an \'89 frame

    i'm getting a '73 tub... my question is if the body mounts will line up. anyhelp here would be appreciated. thanks, pete

    '89 GMC Jimmy- 355, 700r4, 6" Front springs, custom 6" rear shackle flip, D44 w/10 bolt knuckles, 14FF rear. Need- Raptor, Ox locker, '73 tub, ect.

    I cant swear to this but I think there is a difference in the 2. Its in the floor pan where the floor has a step down on the later body where the early one does not. This has come up in the last few months, and dont remember what the final say was. I am thinking that they will swap one way but not the other. Early body late frame or late body early frame.

    Front Cab mount will line up. The second mount is different. The 78 up boddies have a floor change that allowed for a foot well for rear seat passengers. The body mount on those bodies is very simular to the front mount. The older body the mount is up in the bed are dirrectly behind the front seats. I am pretty sure the frame is also differnet shape. You will have to fabricate a mount on the frame. The rear ones should be about the same and line up.

    The front bolts on the Front end are a little narrower on one then the other also... We just used a cutting tourch to fix mine...
