    76 K20 Bearings - ?\'s concerning my front UPDATED

    Dana 44 from 76 K20...

What is the difference between this years set of bearings, races and seals than any other year. Can I use any Bearing from Any Dana 44?

Reason I ask is that Autozone and Pepboys don't have what I need.....

    WHAT WOULD MY FRONT BE...??
    Spicer 44-5F,44-6F,44-5HDF,44-6HDF

I think it is an HD but 5 or 6?
    thanks

I believe there is a difference in the size of the bearing between different years of Dana 44's due to the spindle being a different diameter. I'm not 100% positive on the specifics, but pretty sure there is a difference.

I think you can use all the ones prior to 1977.

well, we did the bearing transplant, they where gone alright. we did find a problem, the outter race spun a bit in the hub. I guess when the bearing went out the it began to spin the race.

We nicked the hub a little to keep the race from spining for the short run, I think the hub should be repaced in the long run. What do you guys think???

    ARQ.

PS: I like the way Jeormy takes care of his tools, he still keeps his floor jack in the plastic bag it came with :-)

Well what I've been told is that if the race spins in the hub, the hub is toast. I had to replace my hub because of the same thing.

The first time I met Jeromy was when he broke his 10 bolt so out came his tools. To my surprise they were all still in the plastic bags too.[IMG]

check with auto zone I checked on a price a while back for a rotor and it came with a hub or without and the hub was the same price as the pair.
