What type of running gear would you expect to find in a 76 Suburban (differentials, transfer case)? All I know is that it has 8-lug wheels and an automatic transmission. The guy says it's a 1-ton but he's not really sure. I won't be able to look it over until next week.

There is no such thing as a factory 1 ton Suburban. It is probably 3/4 ton. It should have a 14bff rear and a D44 front, unless the axles have been swapped.

Somebody might hav put a 1-ton emblem on it. GM never put out a 1-ton suburban.

Was really hoping I'd see a dana 60 under the front when I get to look at it..... It was really the only reason I was thinking about buying it.
