I am finally getting to the point where I can put my 14 bolt FF in, but I am not sure what I have to do to convert the front 10 bolt to 8-lug. I have been told that I just need to swap in 8-lug hubs and rotors. Is this right? I have access to an '86 3/4 ton 4x4 that I can take the parts off of. One more question- does anyone know if NAPA sells the conversion u-joint used when going from a 1310 to a 1350? The guy at napa couldnt find one and said to bring him a part number.
thanks in advance for any help

Casey

You need to take from the spindes out.I believe that is all you could take the shafts while your there just in case the outer stub is different or for spares.Brady

5. Unless you have a Dana44 front then all you need to do you is swap the hub and rotors. BTW your old tranny lost 3rd and 4th gear a few days ago.

It would probably be easier to change the whole 3/4 ton axle then it would be to take apart both. It would just swap right in. What frontend do you have now?

That is what I wanted to do, but I pulled the cover on the 10-bolt in the donor truck and it doesn't look too good in there (lots of metal in oil), and I dont want to mess with rebuilding it.

9. Damn thing had 80,000 miles on it !! I just wish it would have lasted longer, until I had the money for a good one with all the mods.

It should have lasted longer- but when I bought the truck, it did not have a trans cooler on it, so that may be why you lost 3-4 so soon. I think all 700's should have had an aux. cooler on them from the factory, the radiator does not help out cooling at all.
