    under an 82 k-10 700r4 208 thats got a th350 swapped in place of the 700r4,
what adapter would you have to use to do this with the straight across drop down crossmember ? (not the w-shaped one)

looks like normal cast iron 203 th350 adapter to me,
the 208 has slip style rear output

total length of th350 with 208 is 45" from bellhousing back top end of rear 208 output

are 4x4 700r4 cases different length than 4x4 th350 cases ? i dont know why they would be, as far as i know all 700r4 and th350 main cases are same length but its the th350 tails that changed lengths depending on if car or truck and if 2wd or 4x4 in trucks

basically want to know if 700r4 to th350 swap with an 80's slip 208 would work with 700r4 adapter
they are 27 spline too right ?

    thanks

I am in the process of doing this swap. I don't believe the adaptors are the same. I know advance adaptors sells the adaptor, but it is like $250. I bought a TH350 that was with a 208 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Not sure on driveshaft issues yet, but I know the 350 is around 2" shorter than the 700.

in that case then either 4x4 th350 main cases are not same length as 2wd th350 cases,
or that 4x4 700r4 cases are not same length as 2wd 700r4 cases

    hummmmmm.....

All TH350 cases are the same length Truck or Car and 2WD or 4WD.

All 700R4 cases are the same length Truck or Car and 2WD or 4WD.

    The 700R4 case is 1 7/8" longer than a TH350 case.

The differences in length between Truck and Car Tranny's is in the tail housing length.

I hope this info has helped you.

already knew all that cept about 700r4 case 1 7/8" longer than th350 case, everyone knows that its tailshafts that they made several different lengths of and that 4x4 trannies dont use a tailshaft housing

so this means that 700r4 adapter is thinner than th350 one then right ?

tailshaft different length from th350 to 700r4 ?
    or ?
