    83\' SM465 and 208

I might be buying a SM465 and NP208 to swap into my blazer. My 700R4 Raptor is dying for the second time so i'm done with them. My question is can i mate a 205 on the back of the 465?? I believe from researching that it has a 32 splined output?? Thanks - Doug

It's a longer output than the older 10 spline versions...I doubt there is an adaptor easily available for that. I think the later model K30's were available with a 465/205 that was 32 spline but i don't imagine they'd be easy to find.

You can buy the kit from ORD for about $200, then have the 205 case machined to take the 32 spline stuff.

Not sure what you do about the adapter, guess you'd have to buy a later K30 465/205 one.

Other option is to find an older 465/205 combo and either swap output shafts or just use the combo as is.

Neither way is "easy", but the older 465/205 combo will likely be a cheaper/quicker option, as long as the 465 is still good.

Actually, they are not easy to find, but they are out there!!!! I have one in my front yard, it was mated to a th400! It has a 32 spline input and will mate straight to a 465/208 adapter! Any 6 bolt round 205 will! The bolt pattern is the same for them and the 208! They're not cheap, cause anyone on this site know how wanted they are for there strength, Doubler application, or Th400 mating ability! The 465/205 and th400/205 are the sought after matches! I've got a 465/208 sitting in the garage, but I'm probably going to go with a Ford front end and Ford TC.....
