'83 to 90' front grill swapping?

    \'83 to 90\' front grill swapping?

    Hey i was just wondering, I got an 83, but i really like the front grill and light setup of the 90's models, is a swap possible?? is there any sort of online reference anywhere?? If u anyone knows out there please let me know! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

    It can be done quite easily, you need the core support, grille and light parts from an '89-'91, replace your present parts with those and it's done, the fenders and hood are the same.

    Even the wires are the same colors for the lights. I did this to my '82.

    So i probably wouldn't have to do half the crap that other guy did with his 77 eh?

    The older truck have to mess around with mounting the hood hinges and messing with a cowl piece. The newer years are bolt right in. I didnt even take out the radiator. Just pushed it against the fan.

    Did you have to do any welding or cutting at all or was it pretty easy?

    it shouldn't require any welding or cutting at all. mechanically your 83 and a 89-91 are identical. it's just different looking parts you're changing. you should really only need the grille, lights and radiator support. (not 100% sure there) your fenders are the same, your hood is too. so it should bolt on for you.
