84 GMC P/U 6.2 4SPEED

    Where I work they have a GMC with a 6.2 and a four speed. I could not find a plate on the trans that would tell me what it is. It has a low first gear for towing. Or at least that is what I think it is. Any help would be great.

    I'd wager a guess and say it's an SM465, but that's just a guess.

    1984 K5 Blazer 4x4 Silverado
    6.2L diesel, 700R4, 3.42 gears, 31x10.5" tires

    Thats really the only tranny it could be if it hasnt been swapped in.

    82 K5, 6.2L Diesel, sm465, np205, 14 bolt welded, 8 lug 10 bolt lock right, 410 gears, 35" Mud Kings

    Is this sm465 a good stick. I think the truck is going to be sold soon. Thanks Mike

    I had an 82 6.2L 1/2ton 4x4 and it had an overdrive 4 speed. The truck was completely stock. It did not have a granny gear like a 465 has. I like the 465 better anyway, that is what I just put in my 83 6.2L blazer.
